A new logo for ANDES: an instrument of the Extremely Large Telescope
Another astronomy logotype of mine made it through, yay !
This time I participated in a competition to create a logo for the ANDES instrument. ANDES is a high-resolution spectrograph for the next flagship European telescope: the Extremely Large Telescope.
After a few rounds of voting, my contribution was favoured (very narrowly).
The logo shows the Sun setting behind a mountain - representing the Andes. The second mountain on the right represends a prism which diffracts the light, and splits the sun in different colours.
